The College of Teacher Education, Thottakkad commenced functioning in 1994, with a view to impart quality education in the field of Teacher Education. The College started functioning through the collective efforts of the general public, local bodies and people’s representatives. The college has purchased its own land about 70 cents and constructed own building. It has got highly competent teaching faculty, Principal and students are admitted based on merit and norms set forth by the Government and the University. Seats are allotted by keeping all reservation norms. College is disabled freindly.

Students are distributed under the faculties (Optional Subjects) Malayalam, English, Physical Science and Natural Science.Admission to each faculty purely on merit with reservation to SC/ST, OEC, OBC etc
