College of Teacher Education, Paippad is a reputed Teacher Education Institution located in the calm and peaceful village of Paippad ,in the historic land of “AnchuVilakku”.This is a co-education Institution , functioning under theCentre for Professional and Advanced Studies,Kottayam, a Society established by Govt. of Kerala, affiliated to Mahatma Gandhi Univesity ,Kottayam ,Kerala. It started functioning in 1992 and was aimed to meet the requirements of efficient trained teachers in various disciplines in tune with the NCTE guide lines and to Mahatma Gandhi Univesity rules. At present CTE Paippad is conducting Two Year B.Ed Programme with an intake strength of 50 students per year ,who are distributed under five different Optional Subjects as Hindi, Mathematics, Natural Science, Physical Science and Social Science Education. The admission is purely on merit basis with local weightage and reservation to various categories subject to the reservation rules and norms of admission issued by the Govt. of Kerala and the University. The Institution have adequate facilities forthe curricular and co-curricular activities to meet the requirements of the B.Ed. Programme. This Institution provides successful and high standard Teacher Education, conforming strictly to the regulations prescribed by the regulatory bodies. By the sincere efforts of the Faculty Members and Authorities ,it became one of the centres of excellence with nearly cent percent result every year.
